The Mystery of Death
Yoga and the Art of Dying
One-day or weekend workshop
What stirs within you when you think of death? Do you turn away, believing it still lies far in the future? Do you resist it, fear it, or—perhaps—feel a quiet curiosity toward it?
Whatever your response, there comes a time in every life when it is wise to prepare for the great transformation that awaits us all—just as lovingly as we would prepare for birth. To draw a little nearer to death, to contemplate it, maybe even to make peace with it.
Socrates once said: “No one knows whether death may not be the greatest of all blessings for a man, yet people fear it as if they knew it to be the greatest of evils.”
But is it truly so?
During this workshop, we approach the mystery with open minds and steady hearts—through philosophy, personal reflection, a photo journey into India’s ancient city of death, shared conversation, and yogic practices that help us meet life’s final passage with awareness and grace.
A rare and illuminating weekend of inquiry and quiet courage awaits you.
In the Fire of Transformation
Vedic Fire Ceremony
Vedic fire ceremonies, known in India as Yajna or Havan, are among the oldest rituals in the world. They are a sacred form of communication with divine energy — a powerful means of healing, purification, and transformation.
This particular ceremony is held in alignment with the potent energies of Samhain — the Celtic festival also known as Halloween. In that tradition, this night is considered the most powerful of the year: the veil between worlds grows thin, and the boundary between life and death becomes permeable. It marks the beginning of the dark half of the year — a time for turning inward, embracing stillness, and reflecting on impermanence.
It is also a time to honour our ancestors: to thank them, forgive them, or ask for their forgiveness.
During this fire ceremony, we will work with ancient Vedic mantras to release what no longer serves us, dissolve outdated patterns, and invite new, healing energy into our lives. We will conclude by honouring our ancestors with a small ritual and shared meal — a celebration of remembrance, renewal, and light in the heart of darkness.
Other fire ceremonies — such as weddings, house or business blessings, or rituals for release and new beginnings — can be arranged on request.
The Yoga of Sound and Consciousness
Mantra Workshop
One-day or weekend workshop
Many of us know that chanting mantras is a powerful and uplifting practice. These sacred sounds, often thousands of years old, carry the vibration of consciousness itself. There are mantras to overcome fear, to awaken trust, courage, and healing; to strengthen clarity and resolve; to support letting go — and much more.
But what exactly are mantras? Where do they come from, what do they mean, how are they used, and how can they transform us? How are they pronounced, and how can we apply them for the greatest benefit to ourselves and the world around us?
In this workshop, we explore these questions in depth. We learn about different Vedic mantras and their effects, discover ways to integrate them into our own lives, and experience their power through shared recitation and practice. Participants also receive guidance on creating a personal mantra practice — one that supports inner balance, focus, and peace.
The Science of Life
Yoga & Ayurveda
Ayurveda, the “science of life,” is India’s ancient system of healing. Its purpose is to enhance our quality of life through conscious nourishment, balanced lifestyle, yoga, meditation, cleansing methods, and herbal medicine. With Ayurvedic wisdom, it is possible to ease and even heal many hormonally related imbalances, including those that often arise during menstruation and menopause.
Through yoga postures (asanas) and breathing practices (pranayama), we can gently influence the organs and energy systems of the body. When we adapt our yoga practice to our natural rhythm, we not only relieve hormonal symptoms but also learn how to awaken the deep well of vitality that resides within us.
I also offer classes and a six-week introductory course in Ayurveda for those who wish to integrate its principles into daily life.
Deep Stillness
Restorative Yoga-Workshops
Restorative Yoga is a very gentle form of yoga that helps us relax deeply and completely. Most postures are performed passively with the support of blankets, bolsters, blocks, and other props, allowing the body to truly let go. Through breathing, awareness, and mindfulness, we enter a healing state of inner stillness.
Restorative Yoga is especially beneficial for stress, exhaustion, insomnia, PMS, menopausal symptoms, nervousness — or simply when you want to do something kind for yourself.
