My published work

I love painting pictures with the beauty and power of words — evoking atmospheres, stirring memory, and touching hearts. Good writing has the power to give courage and transform lives. Through my magazine features, blog pieces, and my book Meeting Shiva – Falling and Rising in Love in the Indian Himalayas I share stories and insights gathered along a life lived in search of truth and grace.

Feature Articles

Since childhood, I have been a passionate writer and have also worked as an editor for several magazines. Nothing has inspired me more than the luminous, soulful words of other writers — those who dared to tell the truth of their hearts. It was Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist that gave me the final impulse to leave everything behind and follow the call of my soul into the unknown.

My writing spans a wide field: India and its spiritual traditions, death and dying, journeys of awakening, and the quiet transformations that arise when we meet life — and loss — with open eyes. In recent years, my work has also turned toward themes of restorative justice, healing, and the human capacity for change within the prison system.

My years in India and my experiences in prisons have both deepened my understanding of what it means to be free — and how inner liberation is always intertwined with compassion, responsibility, and grace. These threads weave through all I write: a blend of lived experience, contemplation, and the wish to give voice to what connects us beyond fear and division.

My work has appeared in numerous magazines, blogs, and in my book Meeting Shiva – From Love to Awakening, which is currently in film development with U-Ma Studios in the USA.

English Writings

Although many of my publications appear in German magazines, English has always been my main writing language — the one in which I think, feel, and create most naturally. In English, I explore spirituality, transformation, and the deeper threads that connect inner and outer journeys.

Below you’ll find a few selected pieces and an excerpt from Meeting Shiva – Falling and Rising in Love in the Indian Himalayas.

Falling and Rising in Love in the Indian Himalayas (Original English Edition)

Mein Weg von der Liebe ins Erwachen (German Translation)

My first book, Meeting Shiva: Falling and Rising in Love in the Indian Himalayas, was published under my given name Tiziana Stupia.

Book Review by author Nimue Brown:

Meeting Shiva could most succinctly be described as a spiritual autobiography, but it is many things. I’m usually totally turned off by anything that suggests ‘how I found enlightenment’ or ‘my personal tale of growth and redemption’ but this is a beautiful and inspiring book, and not at all what you might expect from spiritual autobiography as a genre. It helps that nothing about it suggests that this is one of those tales of magical transformation with a subtext that you too could have a perfect life if only you managed to be as good as the author. Rather than dangling impossible carrots out the reader’s reach, what Tiziana Stupia offers is a profoundly feet-of-clay story about real emotions, real turmoil and the on-going quest for healing. There are no magical solutions, no all-knowing mystic gurus, nothing smug. Instead there is a courageous degree of honesty, and a story through which many people may be able to reflect productively on their own experiences. (read more)
