AUTHOR, ADVENTURER, AND EXPLORER OF LIFE, DEATH, AND ALL THAT LIES BETWEEN.
About Śrīla
I’m an author, speaker, and facilitator whose work explores transformation, spirituality, and the quiet grace that can rise from life’s darkest moments. My journey has taken me from London’s music scene to the prison chaplaincy of England and onward to India’s ashrams and the high stillness of the Himalayas — a life shaped by deep listening and renewal.
In my writing, talks, and workshops, I share the stories and insights gathered along these outer and inner pilgrimages.
articles & books
I love to paint with words — to shape images, awaken atmosphere, and touch the quiet places of the heart. For me, good writing carries a kind of alchemy: it can summon courage, offer solace, and even change a life.
It is with this spirit that I share my experiences and insights in numerous articles for magazines and blogs, and in my book Meeting Shiva – Falling and Rising in Love in the Indian Himalayas.
Talks & Lectures
During my long journeys, I have lived through experiences that have inspired, enriched, and transformed me in profound ways. Today, I share these encounters with heartfelt enthusiasm in my talks and lectures. One of my key themes explores the death rituals on the Manikarnika Ghat in Varanasi — India’s fabled “City of Light.”
Workshops, Classes & Retreats
If you feel called to explore these themes more directly, I offer workshops, classes, and retreats that bring reflection, learning, and embodied practice together. These can be tailor-designed for individuals, groups, or training programmes. I also lead immersive journeys to India for those who wish to deepen their understanding through direct experience of the country’s living spiritual traditions.
Translations
In addition to my own writing, I also offer literary translations — primarily between German and English.
If you’re an author or publisher looking to bring a work to new readers, I’d be happy to explore how we might collaborate. Recent translations include Agnihotra: Origin, Practice and Applications by Horst and Birgitt Heigl.

Toxic Femininity: The Cost of Being Pleasing
Toxic femininity is not a failure of women, but a learned strategy of survival in a world that rewards being pleasing over being real.
